Our Programs

$tart $mart Teacher Summit

Since 2001, the Utah Jump$tart Coalition has hosted a free, full day professional development training focused on financial and economic education. This training, or Summit, brings together K-12 educators, nonprofits, business leaders and government agencies to empower Utah teachers and homeschoolers to teach financial literacy.

The Summit includes engaging, substantive presentations that make personal finance and economics accessible to teachers and home schoolers, helping them take charge of their financial future. The majority of the training sessions (80%) are focused on content and real life applications with the final portion (20%) focused on resources teachers and home schoolers can utilize in the classroom.

In cooperation with America First Credit Union, the Utah Jump$tart Coalition offers up to six, $1,250 scholarships to Utah's high school seniors who produce creative, informative YouTube videos about keeping college debt to a minimum.

I am such a strong supporter of the Utah Jump$tart Coalition. It is imperative we teach our children the importance of financial literacy. If we wait until they have graduated from high school, it may be too late.
